You get to join and help support the club, I would have thought that was obvious?
I must confess i probably got my fivers worth at the buffet last year
but personally I pay the money each year to support the club, not looking for something back.

Nope i dont, i pay my money into the club like any other member.
I buy paper and ink cartridges for the newsletter and its not often i claim the money back from the club, i also dont claim for my phone bill when i call members for any reason i need to during the month or do i pay myself for petrol used in my car for running Surrey Group erands.
I have claimed off the club for national AGM as its club business that we have to attend or we get stripped of our title, but there was so much of a comotion about it last year i will pay my own way this year.
I also attend committee meetings where i buy my own food and drinks and do not hold them every 2 or 3 weeks and claim 30 or 40 quid a time for drinks.
Think i have covered everything there that the old committee did and i dont do.
The money in the Surrey Group is MEMBERS money and should be spent the way they want it to be, NOT on committee members only !

dave i have no problem with paying pound per person per month i was stating a FACT not moaning. also if i sdont go every month why the fuck should i pay a fiver for years membership. dont no whats happening to surrey at the moment i just dont think it will attract new members or keep existing ones
9 new members in May meet all paid £5.00 each and not one moan
James its all about making sure the club is here in years to come.
Notice you never miss the xmas meal thou
This will not be bought into line for current members to Jan 09 so you will be another free meal on the Surrey Group
From Jan 09 if you cant pay your £5 we will understand.
