I play alot of golf but dont generally spend stupid amounts on that, my last set of irons lasted 9 years. I will probably buy a new driver once a year but then i will pick them up second hand for around £150-£200.

I love smart shoes aswell, dont have to be expensive i just like smart but different shoes. Yet i wont spunk money on them unless i have a bit more money that month.

So looking at it Chip, its just the Cossie i am shit with. I tried to break it and get rid but i was a grumpy bastard as i was bored without anything to faf with. I think aslong as it dont ruin me its money well spent because of the amount of enjoyment i get out of it.

I find myself purchasing toys and items in which well .... i dont need too.

The car always gets a good spanking each month, and at the moment it seems im already ordering things via next months pay cheque before its even close to my bank account, however i never get in debt via the car as this is my luxory(spelling).
Il just wait if its not acheivbale.

As for holidays though I must say for those 2 weeks away I will go to town with the spec.
I have to stay in the best hotel as I see it as my break from the norm and MY 2 weeks of being able to live like a King.

how the fook can you earn 4k a month
This is dependant on too many factors.
Where you live, what you do, how hard you work, how lucky you are..

A lot of it is about making your own luck, pushing yourself into your career to the exclusion of everything else.
I could never do it, there have always been girlfriends, wife, hobbies etc.. to take care of.
I could be out earning more, or I could be at home with the misses. I choose the latter.
Suffice to say, 4k is 4x what I earn in a month, and I earn higher than the local average.

Ahh.. you're management.

Our managers get between 30-40k afaik, they're very guarded about salaries here.

i used to be like that chip, but have been able to control it recently somehow. think it's because i've gone off cars a bit and now love my bikes. that doesn't mean that i now spend uncontrollably on bikes, as i don't. but generally they are cheaper anyway, as you just buy a good bike and it's fast enough not to need modifying imo. given more room for storage, i would spend more on more different bikes (track bike, off roader, hyper sports, superbike, supermoto etc)

When I had bikes I never used to do a lot to them either TBH, everything I did was "off the shelf" like ohlins or a different exhaust etc, none of the custom stuff i do with car engines.
Just seems no need on a bike.

Chip, you described exactly how I am in your first statement, i feel robbed doing the weekly shop if my wife buys anything that we dont need etc yet think nothing of spending £1k on goodridge hoses etc even if I cant really afford it.

Although i'm pretty sensible when it comes to finances i do spend stupid amounts on car bits, since March i've spent £11000 on this 3dr including buying it but my missus wanted to get engaged which i did also but it broke my heart spending a grand on a ring for her and then a posh weekend away but the week after i spent £800 on a set of 3 door wheels and didn't bat an eyelid.

moneys there to be spent end of! if it's a £100 pair of shoes or £150 set of screwdrivers.

i'm terrible with money with everything. but if i haven't got it for whatever reason one month then it won't be spent!

Def guilty - I cringe at 'wasting' even £4 on a sandwich if I'm too late to make mine for work, but whatever the car needs I'll pay.

I think someone needs to start Cossie Anonymous!

erm, not sure where i fit in this, i seem to mix up the months, last month was car month ( trip to the ring, this month its house month ( new dishwasher , leads for tc, bracket for tv blah blah) next month im booking a holiday to florida,,,,, month after its a new turbo and mods for the scoobie( and car tax is due pmsl ) then after that next month its the bathroom

clothes we buy when needed ( night out or holidays), we buy what we like is all i can say about that

when i never had the scoobie i was wasting cash on nights out tbh which is why we got another car,,, the reason we never got a car though was that we wasted alot of cash on the car,,,,, ironic i guess you might say

but we do ok, we dont over do things and we enjoy life,,, guess thats what matters tbh

with me im not much of a clothes fanatic, if i fancy a new pair of jeans i will buy them. I dont see the point in buying £150 named brands. Do people check your arse tag on your jeans or look for a badge before they actually talk to you? Whats that all about? A bit shallow if you ask me. I mean years ago i used to just coz my mates did it but im not as bad now. If i want a specific brand or make i will just get it. I dont need to impress anyone, im happily in a relationship.

The house gets money spent on it in dribs n drabs, we have the outside looking good just need to sort the inside out. But that all happens in time....

As for the cars, my daily the rs2000 gets things if it needs it, the cab well.......... at the moment it just feels like a money pit at the minute tbh......

We all work hard for our money so its only right we spend it on what we want to spend it on!

I've gotta admit to always spending too much on my car and leaving myself short every month by buying stuff that I dont necessarily need but sod it!!

I'm always getting moaned at for spending too much and I keep getting told 'it's only a car, something to get you from a to b'! Maybe it is to them but to me its my hobbie and i love it!

I know I should be putting my money away 'for a rainy day' or for a property but i want to enjoy my cars while I still can!!
