.......cant ever remember reading on here if u can use/put bigger cams in a std head.........inlet side i would change,but will it be any better without porting the head.....(my pistons are pocketed).......cheers pete...
Yes as you have pocketed pistons you can stick "bigger" cams in it like BD14 inlet for example, obviously you would gain more benefit if the head was ported etc, but they are pretty good as std and you will see a big difference when fuelling is adjusted to suit the new cam.

std cams are good for around 420bhp to go bd14 youd need ideally double valve springs,so head off and while your there a mild port with a std exhaust cam and on the T38 a solid 450bhp.
