do you still use them when longstuds are used?

not sure, do they still fit? obvioulsy there purpose is to make sure the head is ligned up with the block, if they still phisically fit then I would say they are needed. Else the head may not be 100% correctly alligned.

which studs are you using? The ones that thread into the block or all the way through?? When I did mine with the type that just thread into the block I didn't remove the dowels and it all went back together OK

the new type long studs...

i cant see they will fit now,

they do fit on the second row in and second to last row dont they?

I would say if they dont fit then dont use them if they do then do, and also chack with martoon tomorrow. I suspect your not going to do anything tonight anyway?

no mate, its dummy built, but i need 4 head bolts before i torque it down, so i will check....casnt see how they fit in the puc above though...all the machined holes are the same size...

There are no dowls on the cossie head/block only on the main caps.

There are 7 dowls on a cossie 4 on the main caps 2 on the back of the block for the g box and 1 on the oil pump.
