would a s2 turbo be ok to run without the water pipes connected

Ive always wondered what the benefit to this is? Obviosly the water temp will be cooler but surely if you have an alloy rad that will offset the disadvantage of having no water through the turbo...

Will the turbo live longer with water or not???

Sorry Guys always wondered thats all.

Why would ford make it with water going through if it wasnt needed.

The purpose of it is to help prevent carbonisation of oil around the core when you switch off after ragging it.. if you let the car idle for 30 seconds or so once you park up (eg, manual turbo-timer), it's not really an issue.
