use FULLY synthetic 75\90 in it all,

this is what bara recommends

the ford stuff is shite and turns to piss with the heat of a tuned cossie.

available from opie oils

you really do need to put the specific oil that is supposed to be in the gearbox to make it shift best

it's not what ford now recommend as it's changed and it makes the change worse when it gets hotter

use the same mate, fully synthetic 75\90 .

i use it in box, transfer box, and both diffs,

it makes the box much quieter when hot, as it doesnt turn to piss, and provides much better protection for the internals....

I'm interested in this too. Spoke to Opie last week and wasn't convinced when they said to use the same fluid for everything. The manual gives different specs for them. Wasn't sure if the guy was flannelling me TBH

its perfect....ford oil spec is for std cars...not tuned ones producing lots of heat....

ive done 50k miles on fully synthetic 75\90 ,and its spot on.

bara, who builds the mullit box told me to never use anything else in them...theres hundreds of us using it....

its one of those once you use it, you think why havent i done this earlier

an example, front diff oil, normally when drained is black, burnt, stinks....weve all seen it!

with fully synthetic 75\90 in it, after 50k miles its still clean, not burnt, and smells fresh as the day i put it in!

At a total, stab in the dark guess, I'd say:

Drain current oil using drain plug
Re fill it through the filling plug

Front diff needs bottom plate removed to change oil think rear diff has to have back plate removed. think i'll try 75/90 oil as well.

how does this oil effect gear change when cold as i think it may be thicker than original ford oil and does it really make that much difference. only problem i will have is my gbox will fuck up before i get real benefit from the oil as will have around 475 horses

I would use the Redline 75w/90 shock-proof oil for the transmission - it is the oil of choice for all the big power 4x4 Time Attack cars .
