How do I go about getting a different one instead of a Hotmail one?

I've done a search for a gmail one but cant seem to sort one out

gmail or googlemail (same thing and even if it say your address is whatever@googlemail.com you can still use whatever@gmail.com )

i used to use orange webmail ( it was wanadoo before that ) but you get ridiculous amounts of spam so stopped using it
