Really sorry to hear this Lee. I hope something can be done. I must admit I do worry about my parents now they're getting older. They've both given me some scares over the last few years, my dad particularly has had a stroke and a heart attack but he's still going strong.
Best wishes from me and my family and I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Not sure what to say to be honest fella.
But just like everyone else, my thoughts are with you and your family, and here is hoping for some positive news eventually.
Keep strong.

Thats horrible news Lee mate, all the best to you and the rest of your family and hope things work out for you, life really sucks at times and can seem so unfair.
My boss had cancer in his bowel diagnosed about 4 years ago, had 2 operations to remove the growths and has been clear of it for a good year and a half, been in good health since the op's but sadly died of a massive heart attack on sat morning, he was only 60.
I was at work on sat morning and his wife came running out saying something was wrong with him, went inside and he was lying on the floor not moving, no pulse and not breathing, tried to resusitate him for a good 20 mins until the ambulance arrived but was too late. Life can deal you some hard blows when you least expect it and all you can do is deal with it as best you can, really hope things improve for you dad mate, all the best.

my wifes uncle had cancer of the spine, and it went into his brain. (very very rare) anyway last year he was given 5% survival chance, and everyone was basically waiting for the day. He even went blind at one point!
Last week he and his wife began their tour of the world which theyd worked so hard for before retiring. hes always gna need help, but hes living their life time dream and enjoying life.
just goes to show, how strong the human will power if to live and the wonders of modern science.
hes in safe hands all the best!

Sorry to hear your news. I hope you all have the best possible outcome from this.
My dad currently has prostate cancer (pllllllleeeease all older male PF users get PSA tests done!) and had a prostectomy (had it cut out) but the healthy zone around the prostate had cancer cells to the edge so he had radiotherapy but his PSA levels kept going up so he insisted on a bone scan and there's a "nodule" on his ribs and so now he's on hormone treatment to monitor and maintain the cancer. Here's hoping!

Going through it myself at the moment with an auntie, and have lost family members to it before, fucking terrible illness and after mental health is my biggest fear.
Really hope he pulls through mate, but if he doesnt, just be there as much as you can for him, savour the moments you have left, plenty of nice hugs to remember etc

Well hes been back today, and it has spread from the lung. He starts his chemo treatment soon. Just hope all goes well now. Hes also opted to do a trial of some other sort of drug with the chemo. I suppose someones got to test things to help advancement!
