lower front splitter missing and not the original steering wheel which might mean the airbag might of been set off. apartbfrom that cannot see anything else up with it

The passenger airbag is still intact.
I can't really notice anything that bad but its hard to see whether it has a sunroof or not, I don't think it does, which makes its a motorsport reshell. If it does has a sunroof, looks like a bargin as long as its not rotten underneath

Yes thats correct but this car has Lux spec, also I'm pretty sure the motorsport and standard where deleted by the time the small turbos came out.

It says sunroof, but if the info was added by ebay via the number plate then it wouldn't have accounted for a re-shell

im not 100% sure on when ford stoped making the escort motorsport

i remember seeing one at martin unit yrs ago it had hex interior, wind up front windows /no opening rear 1/4's/ no sunroof/ manule door mirrors /no front spliter

they dont fetch as much as a full lux pack

back then it was sold for 6k to a trader, muldoon's auto's


these were suppose to be light weight version of the escort cos

im wondering why its a small turbo engine in a small turbo shell with petrol flap but with BIG turbo mirrors on?????

Mine is a change over model which has small turbo everything into big turbo shell but that one having different mirrors go me thinking something not quite right, Ive just changed my Big turbo mirrors for the small turbo ones it should have, seems strange that ford would put large turbo mirrors onto what looks like a 100% small turbo car

other than that it does look ok.

M was the yr that they changed the mirrors anyway some m regs will have the mormal mk5 mirrors , N reg will have later mirrors

Dont look a bad car for the price at all, just because it doesnt have the front spoiler doesnt mean there is something amiss when you could walk into the dealers and buy an escos brand new there was a no cost option to delete the "aeropack" basically ment you could buy 1 without the front skirt kit or the whaletail obvously very few people took this option and the few that were bought like this will probably have had front skirts etc added at later points but you could buy 1 looking like that.

as said no mention of milage anywhere, which seems strange as he makes a point of full service history?

i hate adds like that so hard to read, would put me off even before reading it!

saying all that tho, even if its a reshell or what ever, its still "cosworth" and at that price, why not. as long as its not stolen, then its fair game as far as i see it!

not everyone cares about history and correctness, for someone who just wants the car for fun, it looks a good buy.

this cars been listed a good few times now was listed having had the lock area damaged last time round due to having been attempt to break in hence why its now listed with the stickers round he doors locks and pics no the best angle to see them also was advised for needing a full respray last time dont know if it the same seller or someones bought it and its back up for sale as it is different pics this time .

I'm very tempted aswell but I know I'd be living in it if I bought it!! Plus I don't think I could justify getting the cash together either, no matter how hard I try to say to myself its a good idea.
Sometimes being slightly responsible with a family etc can be no fun!

Reality is that by the time you PROPERLY tidy it up, it will owe you more than just buying a nice one, just buy it and drive it around as it is if you want a cheap escos, if you want a decent escos then buy one.

chip is right why not save the extra and get a tidy one there comming down in price now and in the next 12 months id say thay will be at least Ł1500 less than what thay are worth now.

i seen a genuine 44,000 mile one for sale 2 weeks ago for only Ł11995

Delete-aero cars still get the upper front spoiler - but they don't get the hockeys or the lower splitter.
