yeah chris he was pretty good actually...only crunched 3rd once when we were chasin that subaru.think it only crunched cos the limiter had kicked in and he got a scare

Is difficult to say, as the boost has been capped for reliability / traction. Unless you have a power reading for a T4 at 26psi @ 3500pm?

As it happens Mike I do:

EngSpd 1/min: 3540
EngTrq 1b-ft: 256.6

BOOST P.S.I: 15
Wtr In C: 75
AirTmp C: 17
BaroP kPA: 101.78
Lambada A/F: 12.7


Edited to say that the above was with the Amal Valve fitted......
Deffo feels A LOT stronger low down with the Gready boost controler that is on now!

Well the GT30 makes 27psi at those revs (it just climbed from 26psi before Harvey captured the reading) and on this engine made 316lbft and 219bhp. Obviously it could make considerably more if the boost was turned up, as the turbo would produce the 32psi at these revs . So is obviously a LOT less laggy than a T4....

Do NOT get the GT30 with the integral wastegate - if it is the one I have been told about, it uses a bored out 0.63 a/r housing and so the compressor and turbine are a complete mismatch. The housing is also so thin, that I bet it doesn't last longer than 5 minutes . The proper GT30 as built by Garrett is a fantastic match .

so its safe to say that it comes on full boost a good 500rpm before a T4 and therefore has the same power band as an engine that revs to over 8k?

Yes. Would be lovely on your engine - would bolt straight on as well (without going internal) and would give you another 40bhp, but more importantly, extend you power band . Would just need to be mapped on dyno obviously.
