how could i forget this one, tho i am bias as i love all things gothic and dark, but it is one of the greatest love songs ever and one of the best films also.

Annie Lennox Love song for a Vampire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-vzjZenAQM

Come into these arms again
And lay your body down
Th rhythm of this trembling heart
Is beating like a drum.
It beats for you, it bleeds for you
It knows not how it sounds.
For it is the drum of drums
It is the song of songs.

Once I had the rarest rose that
ever deigned to bloom.
Cruel winter chilled the balm,
And stole my flower too soon
O loneliness, O hopelessness
To search the ends of time,
For there is in all the world
No greater love than mine.

Love....Still falls the rain.
Still falls the night.
Be mine forever...

Let me be the only one
To keep you from the cold.
Now the floor of heavn is laid,
Its stars of brightest glow.
They shine for you.
They shine for you.
They burn for all to see.
Come into these arms again
And set this spirit free.

I coudlnt' possibly catergorise all the differing and varying types of music into a single favourite - it is impossible! No way! I couldn't even pick a favourite SONG, let alone a piece of music (when there are so many different types of music I listen to on a regular basis - pop, classical, rock, metal, dance, funk, soul, lounge, etc etc...)

If I thought about it enough, I might possibly be able to pick you a favourite piece from each stlye/type of music, but not a singular piece from everything.....

You have just reminded me I have a Space Brothers album somewhere.

Im struggling to find a pice of music for this thread, I have such a wide taste in music so there is a list as long as my arm.

One that does instantly spring to mind is the Moody Blues - Knights In White Satin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9muzyOd4Lh8

To be honest I dont know what significance this has to me, but its one of the very few that makes me shut up and listen with my hair standing on end.

So many people I know never got into the Floyd but they all said it was one of the most memorable parts of Live 8, I was lucky to enough to be at the Earls Court Gig in the video, fingers crossed they tour again, possibly one of the best live bands ever.
been brought up with pink floyd dads a massive massive fan and this is also my favourite

I have such a wide taste in music that singling one out as a favourite is quite simply impossible. I like pretty much anything and everything, and I don't think there's been a song listed above that I don't like.

There are some very moving and emotional songs that seem to stick wth people for various reasons, and although some people are happy to share the reasons, I'm going to keep mine to myself.

All I'll say is that like Tiff, I've already chosen the song I want playing at my funeral, and have made family and friends etc aware of it. It's a bit deep and sombre I know, but it's the only song really that I thought fitting for a subject like this....
