has anyone had a speeding ticket from
the average speed cameras on the M1 6a to 11 roadworks??
I do the journey to and from london quite a few times a week, I do the swap lanes and do a indicated 55mph on the clocks (which I know isn't calibrated) sometimes it creeps over but not had a ticket yet and wondering if the cameras work kinda like the TV License detection vans
Anyone??

I'm not worried about it, I've done the journey 100's times since the speed cameras been up and in some sections I've done 70 a while ago so I'd have seen the ticket already which makes me wonder if they work

tell you what, next time you go past them slowly have a sneaky peak at the concrete base they all sit on, you can see NO calbles whatsoever, and you have no transmitter boxes either, i have a mate who works for carrilion and he has said they move the cameras around so much that they couldnt possibly work,
still i have been down on my bike on the way to the ace cafe quite a few times well over 50mh and never seen any sniff of a ticket, and i have been doing the same for well over a year...
i guess one day they may very well be active, who knows..

I've got a customer that works on the roads said they disconnect them for work too but will have a look.
and your bike is safe because the cameras take pics from the front so would have been a skank to get caught.

I got flashed face on by a GATSO march 28th, doing 38 in a 30, and not heard anything yet. I was wondering what the normal turn around was on recieving a ticket? If it helps it would be Strathclyde Police prosecuting!

Not quite, got that one fairly well sewn up now, but that's a good guide.....
Haven't most of us been flashed by a forward facing gatso as there's no need to worry.

If it does it stands to reason that the cameras aren't working because all the measured distance shit is out the window if you change lanes. Makes no difference if you go back it to the original lane to go through the camera.
Either way I'm not going to change the way I drive through the section but its a longer drive at 50ish so got time to think of random shit while it adds 20mins to a journey.
I'll try getting a look at the bases of the cameras for wires.

The Home Office type approval doesn't allow start and finish images to be in different lanes on Specs.
I don't know why, it's just a legal thing.
The temporary cameras around M.1 junction 26 and north are not legal either even if they are connected up.
Type approval only allows images from Specs to be used in the lane immediately below and the lane adjacent to the camera position.
The M1 j 26 and up cameras are on concrete bases positioned to the left of the new hard shoulder position, the only lane they could be used in is the old hard shoulder which is being used for construction traffic on the fourth lane addition.
