My mate has a similar setup in his viva, 11 flat out of a standard internals calibra turbo engine on basic treaded tyres, amazing the difference it makes for launching, and not *that* bad for handling either.
I bet that sunbeam is really mental, thats quicker in the midrange than a veryon

Yeah the thing about the sunbeam that has really opened my eyes is that you can have blistering performance from a cosworth engine as long as you get rid of the rest of the ford SH!TE from around the engine. (i.e. the car itself) ROFLOL

all this shit about fiestas, focus's with cossie engines are totally irrelivant to this thread. they ARE NOT cosworths and will never be. so i would say martins is fastest 0-60. rods for top speed.

bragging dont come into it, the timing gear gives facts not brags.
No other proper road Cosworth & by that I mean fully trimmed car gets close to mine above 100mph. Specialists cars will beat it in their chosen disciplines thats for sure, mine has no chosen disciplines its just got a lot of Power, its nice to be mentioned when in the real world my car has not left its garage for 2 1/2m years & not been timed for over 3 years it means it must have done something special back then even if some dont like that fact.

From what I recall of the figures.
Martin is same quicker than rods 0 to 60, same speed as rods to 0-120, slower to 0-150 slower 0-180, and so much slower 0-200 that rod can get up to 200 and then back down to 0 again while martin is still trying to get there.
So im not sure to what extent the fastest accelerating bit is true TBH mate, its only really the first 30 mph there is much difference really. as soon as the pair of them are out of first gear, its rod all the way.

bout 450 when she is runnign right apparently.im toying with changing injectors to get more. she did do 174 at brunters with the old owner

Martins is quicker in 1st, in 2nd there is nothing in it as martin has now lost his grip advantage really, then in 3rd rods is quicker, so by 120mph its all come out in the wash, so although they take the same time to get to 120, the acceleration curves are a different shape, and then from then on in its Rod's all the way.
In a race of 1.5 miles, Rod's would pull about a half a mile lead, its THAT much quicker.

i am thinking that. i met a bloke at the weekend that has an mx5 with a turbo conversion
but he also has a nissan 200sx for sale for a good price - only problem is it's auto.
i happen to have a 2wd sierra cosworth that i may break and make into something interesting. but need a workshop first - and to not have a broken collarbone

Btw i read a magazine where they had a mazda rx7 in the mag whit a yb cosworth engine.
