Default Fwd Sportscar Lmao

Just bought a n reg mitsibishi Fto GR 180bhp i think as a bit of a money making excercise. (this is not an advert)

What do people think of these. its the first time i have driven it and its a little bit powerful i was quite suprised really, very lazy low down (its a v6) but once revving its ok, handling is good i think certainly better than a standard frst.

its done 60k still restricted and it was enthusiast owned, it was very cheap. and is very clean. never thought i would buy one of these as i just never saw the appeal but peoples views would be great.

i have no idea what to put it up for either so any ideas in that department would be good too.

thanks as always.

Not much, esp as thats the lowest/slowest V6 model really.

MIVEC 200bhp ones usually sell for a bit more, but not loads as there so many now.

look bitch ugly though imho, its a little bit confused.. smooth front and angular back.

A mate used to have one with the tiptronic style auto, the auto's you are supposed to be able to drive as a manual
when the gearbox shat itself it cost stupid money to fix.

the engine went well enough but considering the capacity it was never exciting or impressive, not a car I would want to own personally

Don't think he got great money for it, owns a Rx7 now which is much better

i quite like the look of them actually.....shame they are more common now as they were only cool when they were rare imo.

i think you'll find it hard to shift that model though.

manual ones are far more wanted. which this one is. the Gs is the lowest its an 1800 slow thing 120 brake or something.

this model is one behind the mivec 200hp one and they are advertised for 3.5 to 4k.

its also got all the toys and is mint. this is a gr or an mr cant remeber. i dont like the looks the front wings are massive.

the rear is ok though. i think for the money it will be a good sellable car to someone, i dont think i would buy it for personal use tho lol. what other reliable manual sports car with 180bhp can you get for this sort of money?. its just slightly slower than the mivec one but much lower insurance apparently.

they seem to be all over the place money wise ive seen them for 2495 to 3995. the 2495 with 108k.

im puzzled with it but i only paid 1k so cant be bad.

trouble is, they don't really "do" anything well...

not that fast, handle ok, not easy to tune, quite heavy on fuel, expensive parts, expensive maintainance.... etc etc, as said, I think you will struggle to sell it for a decent price, but it depends on how much you picked it up for..

they are supposed to be very expensive if they go wrong, the cam belt looks like a pig to do aswell. i agree its not that fast but ive been in a lot slower cars. i wouldnt even imagine how to tune it.

Not the same car, but my mate has just sold a late prelude 2.2 Vtech for Ł2300, no-one was interested in it as it falls into the same problem area IMHO, not very quick, but expensive to run and hard to tune.....

Cars that sell well are either

1) Cheap decent run-abouts
2) good family cars
3) leading perfomance cars
4) good 4x4's

Stuff like 80's hot hatches, classics, big engined rep-cars and odd imports like FTO's etc are harder to sell as there is a much smaller market for them, how many people do you hear saying they want a prelude/ fto/ laguna V6 etc etc...

i agree will but the trade is hard for anyone at the moment. My mates got a 05 plate focus with 11k thats mint and is struggling at 500 quid under book.

ive got a mint w reg subaru thats hanging around, A mint m3 evo, the only one thats getting any intrest, (a phonecall every day) is my 3 door focus that in my opinion is overpriced.

Strange....
