wheres the ideal place for it? can i put it in the front pipe close to the turbo? its a split pulse manifold so if it goes in the manifold it will be in either 1+4 or 2+3

it´s always best to have one in each cylinder, but most do have it in the collector in a 4-1 manifold so it measures all 4.
But in a split pulse i would put it in the one where cyl 3 is, cause it´s always the hottest one.

It will be fine in the front pipe but will only read a collective temperature of all 4 ports (so an average).

I can't see individual cylinder problems arrising on your mountune plenum to make much of a difference though.

I was going to ask this as I want one for mine.

What about if the probe snaps/breaks... Turbos gonna get munched? Could you not put it in the downpipe as close to turbo as poss?

yep thats what im doing putting it in the front pipe / down pipe (same thing) next to my lambda which is already rite at the top close to the turbo. i wouldnt say there was any chance of anythin going wrong with it even if it was before turbo as theyre rated to rediculous temps even if you had als on for long periods of time! what make guage you gettin?

Not sure yet, Depends also if I decide on a manifold so will prob mount it there, but failing that it'll go in the downpipe if I stay cast manifold.

Depends on what you're trying to measure? "EGT" should be as close to the exhaust valve as possible, "pre turbine temperature" should be as close to the turbine inlet as possible, anything after the turbo is guesswork and academic.
