Where would you take a girl on holiday for a week, that you weren't dating?
Good friend of mine (who is a girl - and we aren't dating, just friends) has been saying how she really wants to get away for at least a week this year for a summer holiday. Thing is, she's a student, and currently on gap year. Well untill last week when she found out she'd been accepted onto a uni course that starts in Sept. She had planned to go away with her parents on holiday but this now clashes with her new course so she can't go. She's a bit upset cos she really wants a week away (abroad, but don't know where) but she can't afford to go on her own. Her best friend (another friend of mine) has already booked her holiday with her boyfriend, so they can't afford to go on another with this girl.
So I would be happy to go on holiday with her - we're good mates and get on well with each other, and truth is I can't afford to go on holiday on my own this year either, so it would work out nicely....
Thing is, where to do take a girl on holiday, but when you aren't dating?
So it can't really be the romantic kinda holiday as such, but as far as I know, neither of us fancy the "lads" style holiday (you know, resort, malaga, majorca, cavos(sp), Ibiza, that kind of thing).
Personally I think it'd be nice to go see some of Europe; Italy, France, Germany, etc, or somewhere nice and tranquil like Corsica, etc.... But worried that might end up becoming a "romantic couples" kinda thing - and we ain't a couple!
Really I'd like to take her to New York, as even tho I have been twice in the last 2 years, I'd still like to go back (again) and have someone to show it to this time (and I wanna visit Taryn and Eriks new pad
)
Any idea's? Remember I'm a skint homeowner getting buttfucked by the new price rises in energy costs, and she's a 20yr old student who only earns a couple hundred quid a week (if that)

Only thing is NYC might skint her out a bit - I earn a fair bit more than her and it skints me out
And it's a LONG ass flight 
But it's my favourite place in the whole world, and it'd be so cool to share it with someone! I only know Erik and Taryn out there, and they are both New Yorkers so they aren't particulary excited when I tell em I discovered the EMpire State Building, or the Brooklyn Bridge - cos they see em everyday

Can you not look on a last minute type site?
I don't do holidays, but mate has several foreign holidays a year, and some of the deals he mentions are crazy, sure places must lose money on them.
Much cheaper than staying here.

Milan. Plenty to do, some great stuff to see, some MEGA shopping to be had. I went last year and the only problem I had was the humidity. It was constantly 90% plus

I mean I'm not really up to speed on what she want's from a holiday, I've yet to ask her - it's only cos I was chatting to this other girl (not the one who wants to go on holiday and can't) and she mentioned it to me, made me think...
From my point of view - I like city's, like New York. But I also like tranquility, but with culture. Like I'd be proper happy romping about Rome, learning shit about ancient times etc, or going to Vatican City, or the pyramids in Egypt, or just city breaks in say Paris, or somewhere in Italy, or on the other end of the scale, going to a remote area, quiet, outdoors/wildlife type stuff... Not really a "touristy-get-on-the-piss-in-bar-street" kinda holiday for me really.....

I went to Venice in January and it was fooking excellent 
Nice place, great history. I love italian cooking so that helped.

Remember she is 20 years old so she might want to do the beach/drinking holiday

There is a lot more to vegas than gambling, if you are into sightseeing you can take a helicopter ride over the grand canyon, or over vegas at night.

i would say kos aswell its got almost every thing you could want

tho if your doing the beach, pool , hotel holiday thing, get an All inclusive holiday, 1 its cheeper, 2 you dont have to go tho any romantic style meals and awkwardness when trying to split the bill
