I bought my escort in U.K and went over with about 12k sterling, No probs getting it from my local bank on a few days notice. There's plenty of dodgy 50euro notes flying around. Watch out.

Easy answer to this, only take stirling. If I was selling a car and a person from britian was coming over to buy it from me I would expect them to pay me in Euro's.Or at least the bulk of the money in Euros,so you should ask for the same. Regards,Micky

I'd keep the euros as they'll be worth more than the £ soon If in doubt take sterling only...

Beware this one, did you sell it on Ebay or through a private ad? My husband just sold an Escort on Ebay and the guy flew from Ireland, came and picked the car up, paid cash (Stirling though) and drove it away, brought it back couple of hours later saying it wasn't right (the car was perfectly ok) and wanted his money back, only thing is, log books now been sent off in his name and he has had time to get a set of keys cut for it. All he has to do is go back to Ireland and report it stolen if he does the same to you don't take the car back, just tell him its sold as seen when he picks it up and you don't do refunds.
