Fair enough not liking them, but how can it be a bit bling for the age of the car? They the genuine wheels the racing car versions wore 20yrs ago?

My only thing with em is they inside the arches a bit much for me, but they sit better than most people on heres wheels, so its ok.

I'm sure I've seen one at one of the shows with the same wheels but with black instead of gold and they looked absolutely fantastic, as do these, and I like gold as people who knew my old car would know.

What width and profile are your rear tyres mate, as thats about the amount of sidewall I am aiming for with mine, and I believe yours are 17" as well.

Rear's are 245/40-17 and the fronts 235/40-17 altho tbh I wish i'd gone for 35 profile as these are causing me grief....plus my rears stick out further than Ryans which is also causing me headaches.

ps its only sat that high becuase these are pre body mod pictures

Lamby's and Ryans wheels look sooo much better than mine jst for being 18's tho...my centres seem to stick out further than theirs. Im hoping a centre colour change to silver/grey will help against that image.

Sorry to be off topic Ryan, not to far adrift though.

I think they look spot on in this pic - 35s look to skinny on a 17" rim, but I might go 235 instead on the rear which should help a bit with clearance.

They sit in the arches nicely, I dont think it needs to go a great deal lower tbh.

I am going to have the same problem as you as my centres will be further out than Ryans and Johns by 15mm or so., its going to be dremel time I think.

It aint off topic...we're the old skool BBS appriciation society

What wheels you got then, centre locks or four stud?

We've managed to get it dropped around 20-25mm so far and looks a hell of a lot better for it. Tried 235/40 on the rears but they looked stretched..think my rears are 8.75j.

you will have major grief if you want the car to sit properly on stand still on anything like 235-245's even on a 17, due to the offset of the wheel, you will have to remove ALL of the kit and metal lip to the outer edge of the kit.

Been there and done it with 18's on my old car, done properly it can look factory, went for the skinny 35 215 option on this car purely as i didnt want to touch the kit at all if i could.

Its on koni's as is very low, i may higher it slightly when i get back from germany, but going to see how it drives on the wheels tomorrow as it will be the 1st drive with these wheels as i've only just been able to do them up as i havent had the 90mm socket required to do so.

So tomorrow is the big day.

on a bad not, the chip in the windscreen i got a few days ago whilst testing the boost has now turned into a crack

will be making a call to the insurance company on tuesday talk about cutting it fine, im sure my 3dr is trying to tell me something, first the chip screen, now the crack.

Also after today the wheels have megga megga grown on me, the photo really puts the wheels in a bad light, and now i know why, you need to be about 15-20 ft away from the car to get the full picture, upclose they dont look good due to the style of the wheel, and also that angle i have taken the picture at makes the fronts look perfect, but the rears a bit pony, but in reality they sit pretty much bang on where i want them, obviously if the car was a diffrent 3dr i would be hacking the arches like my last one and sticking them right to the edge of the kit on 245's

yep we are a small, but very happy group of 3dr owners

The ones I have are 17" centre locks bought from Martin as well - the last set he was prepared to give up I believe, that is unless you also buy one of his cars.

I dont plan to sell the cosworth they are going on so dont mind modding the bodywork.

Mine wont be together this year as Im building a house, so just gathering parts ready, but we will have to get the 4 cars together at some stage - make a great mag feature as they will be all different specs with a common theme

Have fun Ryan on your trip - the spectators are going to love the car/wheel combo - I wish I was joining the party - maybe next year.

Do all your mates slag off your BBS rims as much as mine do to me? Bloody clueless turkeys that they are
Not sure on the mag feature...my four studs, even tho rarer, look pants next to centre locks
