has anyone fitted a TDI engine into a mk4 escort ?

what exhaust did you use , the guy i bought my TDI engine from didnt give me the downpipe so need to go hunting

why would you want to?

cuz its my daily runabout / work van and i want more power than the 1.8 n/a derv thats in it at the moment

You could have a look around the scrappies at mondeo's etc, but i doubt you will find anything. you will probably have to get one made.

i know , spent most of the day looking for one , mondys are slightly different and i found 1 escort td so got the bloke at the scrappy to move 4 cars out of the way and lift the escort up to find its been chopped in half !

What TD engine is it? If its from an Escort then Id imagine an Escort manifold?

yeah its an escort tdi engine but as its going into a mk4 I'm pretty sure the exhausts wont line up

Im pretty sure no down pipes will fit straight off, but an escort one would be closest I would think!

philpy-si - after much much searching i think i have found one and can make it fit with a few welds and a bit of scaff bar !
