At least you werent doing any sort of speed!

I can remember when i dropped my littel ZXR400 in front of a load of people, i got stuck underneath the bloody thing... scratched all my clutch casing, side fairing and snapped me wing mirror off, but i didnt care about any of that, it was just the fact that about 50 people saw me do it cos i was in the middle of the high street!

Mines ok as i had a full set of R+G bobbins on it, it has broken the front brake lever, rear brake lever, scratched my new stubby exhaust! grrrrrr

The tyre wasnt new, it was old, plenty of life left in it, but it was meant to be a 190 profile not a 180......i think he had a smaller one on to turn in quicker on the track......and it was cooked on the right hand side! (knockhill)

i have just ordered all the new R+G bobbins !! And i have a mate that has a breaking r1 so i can get the levers! still an but of a bstd though.

sorry, but knowing that your tyre was bolloxed and in this kind of temperature with that type of tyre you should have been riding extremely cautiously. personally, i would not have ridden it like that - i would have either taken the wheel out to take to a tyre place or get a mobile tyre fitter in. easy to say after the event i know

how fast were you going really as those bobbins look more damaged than an off from just pulling away gently

Honestly, i was pulling out of the junction, turning right, cant believe it myself, they look really knackered but i suppose thats them doing their job???
Oh, i might add that when you turn right you start to drive downhill.....maybe thats why it slid quite far. Dunno, but hindsights a bitch eh!

Yeah - bikes are cool. I stopped riding them back in 2000. Did 5000 miles riding a brand new R1 like I stole it. Decided my license and most probably most life were going to be lost so I got rid of it and swore blind I would never ride one on the road agian....

However, recently I have been getting the earge to buy another! Something 2 stroke and retro like an RG500 or better still an RGV250/RS250 with an RG500 engine fitted. Compared to cars they are so cheap and even more imprtantly easier to work on......hmmmm - most resist...!lol

its all about luck. i come off at about 130-140 slid annd rolled for wot felt like for ever, then jumped up with just a few grazes and bad wrists. and i'd just over taken my mate in his car and he and a few mates saw it all, they thought i was dead, even tho i got away with it i wont go on 1 again.

speed dosent kill its the sunden stop that does

unlucky cutch, i got spat off outside my parents house, just fitted a new pair of Pirelli Diablo's to my old SRAD and nipped out into a gap in the traffic, the back tyre didnt grip too well on the white lines in the middle of the road

The previous accident was a bit more serious bike cranked over round a left hander... subsidence mid-bend... tank slapper... ran wide... fence... smashed arm
