Your slight errrrr contact issue as well!

Sorry to see this Mike, transmission issues must be permanently on your mind.

What's happened exactly? Can see the front diff case has cracked. Also the bell housing on the gearbox near the clutch. What actually failed?

I'd have expected that sort of failure from a launch or something - to do it while at good speed kind of surprises me. Is the diff a thick wall one?

What bits are coming out (besides transmission oil ) and what is going back in?

Si

Front UJ on the prop exited stage left (exploded). T30RA did ask if it was that, but for some reason has since edited his post .

I wasn't quick enough pulling it out of gear and it caused that amount of damage flapping around before it fell out the back (took several hundred metres to pull over).

Luckily I did pull it out of gear, as it smashed the clutch plate so that it jammed the clutch rock solid (peddle won't even move ).

The casing WAS a thick wall one - thank fuck for the strengthening plate, wor that would be in pieces on the road as well .

Gearbox, clutch, diff and drive shafts are all being replaced .

Bugger.

Really sorry for ya, one thing after another at the mo. Sure it will all come good for Peggy though, all part of the R&D stage at the mo I guess. Your last conversion / power level I'd guess had a few teething issues, and look how well that lasted / worked once it was up and running

So as well as spare driveshafts for the Ring Trip, you'll be taking boxes, diffs and props too?

I have a front prop and all shafts (XR4*4 at the front) if you need them, or want me to bring them as spares just in case!!

If you don't mind, can you add your details to the Ring Trip Roll Call post - keep them vague if you don't want everyone to know your precise movements (what with all ya stalkers and all!)

Kenny,
Cheers for the sympathy .

Nath,
I'm waiting for the hike in car tax to cause a drop in their value .

Ginge,
It was the only part of the transmission bar the rear driveshafts that hasn't been replaced. Unfortunately driving the car as hard as I do and for as long as I do will highlight issues. Basically it is a race-car with creature comforts, and race cars aren't designed to do road car mileage at race-car speeds .

You just need to grab a ride when the seat is free, but obviously my friends take priority .
