You can do it other ways if you search on the net. But tbh you will only be saving a bit and for the extra hassel is it worth it? I just paid the money and was plug in and connect wirelessly. Awesome!

Slightly off topic (but where you guys heading lol)
But my boys just got the rrod on his 360 (had it over 1 1/2 yrs constantly used), and cos the ammount of games he got, I didnt mind getting him another, only the cheapy "Arcade" as he dont go on line and obv got his old HD with all his saves on anyway.
BUT
My question is upon opening the new one up and inspecting it, found it does have the Falcon MB with the 65-nm cpu, and improved GPU cooling (piped to an extra sink in front of cpu sink, infront of fans), so does anyone know the failure rate of these new units ? , hopefully be zero lol.

Gonna have a go at the hot air gun and removing the "X" plate and screving sink in place on his old one, already tried "overheating" it, but no joy , if it works then I get a console, if not well hey nothing lost

Lets just say, like I said in my first post "After taking his NEW one to bits" and that was done within 5 mins of it getting thru the door , only switched it on to check it actually worked before I took it apart .

BUT wouldnt mind seeing if MS would supply the new heatsink, so I could fit it myself . IF I get it going might enquire about it

Aint really into gaming myself, just cant get on with it, but having said that am getting better now playing the boy a bit lol (it becomes embarassing keep getting beaten by a 10 year old lol ), but would say cant see the PS3 graphics or gameplay being as good as the 360, but i aint actually seen one being played lol so cant really comment.

But they'll charge you iirc it's about 65 notes but it's a spare or flog it on.

And lets just say someone had changed the firmware on the drive, would they still do it, and would the firmware be changed back, not that I think they could without knowing the original firmware.

Afaik you send it off pay your wedge and get it repaired and back to standard.
I'll check tonight cos i know a couple of people who have done it with modded firmware. I'll let you know later

just for your info, i got a linksys wireless gaming adapter for my 360 and it works perfectly with my o2 broadband wireless hub

doesnt just have to be the official xbox one.

on another note has anyone seen the killhouse map yet ? been playing the new maps since release and still not seen killhouse

Apparantly as i.ve been told cos it's the rrod it doesnt matter weather it's been modded or opened it is still gratis.

If you are going to buy any consol apart from the best being xbox i got both a pony 3 and elite box But yea if you want to buy new, buy from game the store and you get a 1 year warrenty or you can upgrade to a 3 year.But this is a added bonus of in shop replacement straight away, i just take console in asda bag no wires no nothing just console they replace in 2 mins and i walk off sorted.

Edit to say you couldent do this with pony 3 as your hdd would be lost all info etc even sending it back to sony do you lose all the info lol shit machine lol
