anyone know about the white/gold wheel thing yet?

Yeh, found it.
The white wheel means that player has used the the wheel at some point, but not for the last or current game. If its gold, the player is using it a lot (and currently).
I think the lightening cloud/pow/red shell thing can be dodged by shaking the controller at the right time. Also using the turbo can shrug it off.

I like the wheel personally! adds a bit more fun to it and works well....
My wheel comes up white in online mode even though that is all I have ever used....
I'll try shaking the wheel next time I get a lightning.... You can fend off a red shell if you have a banana / green shell to lay just before it hits you

i was playing this again yesterday. i hadn't had much time yet and had thought it was a pretty cool game. After a blast yesterday i've decided its awesome!! Really getting the hang of the wheel and learning to drift more. Completed the 50 cc now so seen all the tracks. Its ace having all the old tracks from previous games

Just opened up mirror in normal racing mode (gotta complete 50cc, 100cc and 150cc all with gold cups if you've not done it yet)..... fookin hate rainbow road and now its in mirror and 150cc....lol
Is there anyone who I've not added yet???
