Default Info needed re Kenwood cd player

Bought a Kenwood CD player similar to this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=001

Connected it up in my car which already has a Kenwood stereo fitted so used the original wiring loom and connector as the new one i bought ( not actually new as its secodnhand but new to me !! ) didnt come with one.

Now the problem being is that it does fire up and can hear the radio but it has no display and will not load a cd, im wondering if there's a possibility that there is a difference in the wiring at the main connector on the back of the unit. Could it be that because my original unit is an older model are the wiring pins and connectors in a different place compared to where they are on this newer unit !! ( hope that makes sense!! )

Can anyone shed some light on this as have been in touch with the seller and he says it was working fine when removed from his car ! I know he could be telling me porkies but giving him the benefit of the doubt until i know for sure whats wrong with it !!

Probably contacts on the back of the face panel.

Almost certainly the contacts.

Take the face off and gently rub the gold-plated contacts with a pencil eraser. Refit it and see if it is any better.

The only connections on the back of the Kenwood in the ISO block are:
+12V power
ign +12V power
earth
Illumination
Radio on +12V (aerial, etc)
telephone mute (on most models)
and 8 speaker wires

None of this would affect the lack of cd player or display.
