Buying from US ebay...........
Ive bought loads of stuff from US ebay before and sometimes i get stung for duty and vat and other times i dont. The times when i dont is when they mark the item/package as a low value, usually $25.
Im in the process of buying a few expensive bits at the value of around $750 and the seller says he is prepared to mark the package at $25 value after i asked him if this would be ok.
Now the question is, if this item gets lost/broken, would it be my responsibility to claim and would i only be entitled to $25, or would the seller have to claim and its his responsibility until i get the goods in good condition?
I suppose morally, i would be responsible as i requested that he marked it as $25.
has anyone ever had anything go missing between USA and the UK, or am i worrying about nothing?
Cheers.

i've had alot of stuff from USA and they do always warn me when i get them to mark the value down, that that value is all it would be insured for.
its like when you go to a UK post office and pay extra for insurance cover if its worth more than £100, they ask you what its worth and it gets covered for that. you cant put 2 values on the package lol
i've not had any stuff go astray yet (touchwood) apart from a recent order from canada which is taking a while, but the bloke said it would take 4 - 6 weeks and this was about 3 weeks ago.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
S1: Tbh with you mate its at your own risk. I reckon as long as you use someone reptuable to post like USPS EMS service which is like recorded with a tracking no. it should be ok but you never know.
Me cousin had a clucth sent over for his evo with a value of $400 and the shipping was like $200. We was gonna risk it with a low value but though fck it he got stung £50 which in a way aint bad but does kinda take the piss

Thanks all, yes i think i might just chance it then and ask them to mark it as $25. As long as it has a tracking number i dont suppose there should be any problems.
