Im not. Ive no interest in retiring. I will eventually teach my children the intricasies of rescaling engine manegement systems remotely, but until then i have 82 dealers that require Kenny and I to be awaiting their software at our keyboards. Kenny can manage on his own in an emergency, but its not fair just for a track day.
Still, you never know... i guess i could do some work remotely from my car while im there. Will give it some thought as id like to go, should be a great day with some great driving and photo opportunities.

As for time off, we are having to plan NOW for when the baby arrives in September and that's not proving to be easy

stu, the got a mobile data card? they're great for working out of the office. bandwith might not be suitable for you to everything online but you can use a remote desktop type service to access the office PC and work that way

Back to seriousness, we manage just fine mate, we only work Monday to Friday 9 - 5 and have an hour for lunch. Does self employed life actually get any easier than that? The bonus is, i dont have a boss breathing down my neck and targets to reach, oh, and i get paid properly which most employees dont of course.
I have plenty of time to do all the other things in life so im not sure what your reffering too??
I had two holidays last year, one in Germany and one in Barbados staying at the Crane Hotel, the year before we did Africa, Germany and spent 2 weeks on the French Rivierra, staying in the Cannes Hilton. Life is good, and it is good BECAUSE i personally refuse to swan off during working hours not in SPITE of it! It means my dealer network knows they can trust us to perform whenever we are required to. Its called commitment and professionalism, something which will always single out an employee from an employer.
There are better and more profitable businesses of course, many of them, but i get a lot of satisfaction out of growing mine and it has grown, religeusly, year in, year out, sometimes in excess of 300%. thats my golf.
