I know he lost. it was only his second pro fight wasnt it. I thought he was unlucky really. Ill tell you what though.
He's fuckin fast for such a big bloke. When they used the aerial camera it reminded me of a rottweiler tearing a teddy bear apart.

Hopefully he'll get better with some experience.
Wasnt a he a propper champion wrestler before he joined WWE?

This is his actual MMA Debut.

it's all about ratings
merry will get more money a a 40-0 fighter with 26 ko's (or so we are led to believe) and so the next match will be worth more money to him and it goes on and on

if show had squashed him outright then everyone would have said "see, told you so" and if merry had brokeded his jaw everyone would have said "told you so"

so by making that show dominated and, as i correctly predicted, outside interfeance from the hired help, would swing the match, both have gained the victory and now more people will cash in to see the next "fight"

wrestling makes money when it gives people what they want to see with some twists

much as i'd like to have been, certain things are so predictable it's unreal

everyone knew that show was going to loser, just the same as everyone knew that taker wasn't about to lose at wrestlemania, he never looses at wm o he sure wasn't goig to pass the torch" to the likes of edge
and everyone knew that michael hickenbottom was goig to retire ric flair, the build ups been goign on for months and months

the only thing that threw us fans a little was kane winning the ecw title and the fact that orton kept his

finley should have won his match but for the sake of the enduring fued with jbl
c m punk is the rising star so he was going to win money in the bank (should have been kenedy but he was caught out popping some naughty pills which is why he wasn't named as vice's son and hornswaggle got the role, and jericho was the first undisputed champion but the viewers never warmed to him so he wasn't going to win either)
the womens match was always going to be the glamazon pinning maria after some outisde interferance from santino marella

and thats about it

one shock reslut i the whole 4 hours, but we were entertained and thats what counts

look at this sado comments on the clip, he thinks its real!!

the_brigand (Mon Mar 31 12:34:12 UTC+0100 2008)
The highlights fail to point out...1. the crowd only cheered for Big Show2. Mayweather acted like a ####3. They didn't show Mayweather trying to run out of the arena like a little girl.4. Maywather spent most of his time on the floor.5. The trainers were upset with Mayweather for his lack of ability to pick up the most basic of wrestling moves(like using the ropes) that they had to have Big Show beat up on the 'handlers' instead.disgusting

Bollocks do they, they know EXACTLY what they are doing, they just HAVE to "play up" and make out they think its serious so people like Dojj stay interested and keep making them rich.

The wrestlers KNOW its only acting

How old are you? 12?

Would I say it to his face? I'm not insulting wrestlers. Some of them are fantastic athletes, and they are all very mediocre actors.

Had you understood my point, I was illustrating that it is the only sport in the world I can think of where there is no competition, and that by definition makes it children's viewing only.

so it's only the highlights?
the crowd were only cheering for show
the crowd last night decided they would boo when one guy hit the other and cheer when another uy hit someone
so when certain wrestlers were slugging it out, there as a swift round of "yay, boo, yay, boo, yay, boo" etc

merry was supposed to act like a cunt, right up until he was taking a drink of water in the corner when show decided he'd had enough and cleaned te trainers clock by draging him into the ring and giving him so big slaps to the chest

merry wasn't so much running as his team decided to throw in the towel when his boxing didn't cut it when show decided o start "wrestling", claiming that their man didn't sign u to get brutalised the way he had been

merry did spen a long time on the floor, but mainly because show was standing on him

merry didn'y seem to be able to act naturally in the ring, maybe this is because he's just so new to the game

so all in all, merry's performance was not quite up to the standards we were all expecting, he wouldn't have even made wwe diva status with the display he put on last night

chip, i classify you as a clever fellow so if i explain it to you you may be able to explain it better to some of the others
or, perhaps they will understand it as well

you have 3 sorts of wrestler, heel (villian), babyface (hero) and tweener (anti hero, but not a villian at the same time, think vin diesel in xXx sort of loveable antiestablimentarism rogue)
the writers craft a storyline that pits one against the other, for whatever reason, some fueds have started because one guy didn't leave the ring in time, but once yu have that iniitial spark, the wrestlers then go away and make the matches, the moves, the choreography if you like, knowing that one time one guy will win, at other times the other will win, and there are other times when it becomes unimportant who wins
this is normally when one guy has to be out of action for a few months because thy are udergoing surgury or the like so you will have one guy beat up the other with a stick or a pol or something to ut them out of the picture, and there is a fued in the making for when they return
the best wrestlers, be they heel, face or tweener become so because of their ability to speak on the mic and wrestle effectivly with whoever they are pitted against (known as carrying someone in a match)
the fans appreciate the skill in the ring and the jibber jabber outside the ring

people have a viewpoint that they are only "actors" which is fine, but if you don't see beyond this "acting" you miss out on the entertainment aspect and get this slanted view that they don't really hurt themselves and all the other things people use to diminish their profesion

last night, it was claer that the money merry fella doesn't have what it takes to cut it in the ring as a pro wrestler and his dismal performance was even worse than we would expect from the lowest of the diva's (and if you saw the playboy bunny lumberjack macth, you woul know exactly what lack of skills i was on about )

that is all

i think you are confusing it with amature wrestling, or the grecko roman stuff they do at the olympics and in most usa high school

as soon as you turn "pro" you entre the world of storylines and meet those who don't break the kayfabe of the storyline when they aren't wrestling

EVERYONE realises that you need to actually be physically adept to act in a wrestling ring, and you need to know certain fighting techniques too, even PON mentioned that.

It seems to be YOU that misses the point, its NOT a fight, you CAN NOT "win" it in a sporting sense, like PON says its not the actor winning or losing, its the character, as determined by the script writers.

i've never said it was a fight mate, but there is competition to become a better wrestler, just as there is competition to become a better actor in a soap opera

the fact that the scirpt writers say "joe is going to end up victorious because fred needs to have surgury on his head, so make sure you bust him up after the matc" doesn't meanthev'y told them how long the match is going to last or who's going to pin who, they just lay out a basic guideline orf how they want things to turn out and then the 2 guys go away and try to come up with the best possible match they can

so the better you can "wrestle" and the more impresive your skill set of moves is the better you are going to impres the writers, who will then push you from being the warm up act on the dark show to starting the real tv tapings and then possibly headlinging an event such as wrestlemania, where you get the lions share of the % of gate recipts etc as well as being able to negotiate a much heftier contract

the implication seems to be that they just dance about and slap each other, which culdn't be further from the truth

So Dojj is saying that they are competing at being the best actor to cut it in WWF. I can not think why you rip into him for this obvious "sport".......

athlete rather than actor, or even stuntman, but then people expect more and more until you do silly things
