Default ABS and big brakes

Starting from scratch on a track car.

I am installing a pedal box with 6 pots/356 and 4 pots/330 brakes.

Would you retain the standard 3 door ABS?

Or ditch it all and start brake lines again?

I ask this because modern abs and big brakes sometimes does not work with ABS working too early - I am told that similar cars with different brake sizes have different ABS cals from the factory.

A mates car with big brakes does ABS too early.

keep what you have for the moment

if you feel that oyu need the adjustability then fit a bias knob in the rear line

the abs kicks in early because you have that mush more stopping ability

if you want to start from scratch then your line about keeping the bas and fitting a pedal box means you don'tknow what you are doing, so leave it to someone who does or get proper advice

not teaching you to suck eggs, just making the point before osmeone else does

Not sure I talked about a bias?

THe pedal box will adjust bias front to rear - I have not looked at the ABS module but I suspect that it is either a two or four port module (as it has a sensor each wheel - it would definately not be diagonal spilt).

Therefore I could have my pedal box still adjust bias and retain proper ABS functionality.

Am I wrong?

I though ABS was only supposed to cut in when a diferrential of speed occured between side to side?

I thought i could split the ABS manifold into front and rear or use two.

The ABS can only reduce pressure. Therefore the ABS and bias is maintained??

Am I right about Bias knobs only being flow reducers not pressure reducers? Because it is was a pressure reducer it could not be plumbed inline without needing a bleed port. Or if it was an unequal size piston type (commonly used in hydraulics) which can be plumbed in line then it is not adjustable?

Has anyone got ABS to work with big brakes?

the proble is of basics

as escos has already pointed out it's either or, you can't mix and match as the whole abs gubbins is controled by electronics, including the servo/pump action to presurise the system

ah not entirely true i made a sub loom to power it but found my pump to be fault hence the servo conversion

You talk of a servo withing the ABS unit - yuou guys also call this also a pump.

Is in not a servo valve - i.e. a precision valve for decreasing the pressure b/w the master cylinder and the caliper.

Not a pump at all?

Maybe the pump is there to actuate the servo valve and not the entire braking system.

I also imagine there is one servo valve per channel (4).
