What new mobile phone?
My mobile phone contract is up in about 6 weeks time, i've had a Samsung X830 for about the last 18 months, i've got on really well with it but the camera has never been fantastic due to it being such a small phone
I'm with Orange at the moment and got a deal with Carphone Warehouse where every 6 months they refund 50% of the bill, so for 500mins & 500 txts a month the line rental has cost me £17.50 (obviously I get slaughtered as per usual if I go over my allocated limits)
I'd like to stay with Orange, so can anyone recommend a good upgrade on Orange with a decent amount of minutes and texts?
Also, i've been drawn to the iPhone lately, what's the price on these and who/what are they available on?
Thanks

it depends, what you want to use the phone for?
if you want a computer with a cammera and it does everything you could possibly want then N95, but there is no nokia car kit and they are quite big.
for me I use a phone for txting and taking to people and I like to use the nokia charging car kit so I am a 6310i
I baught 2 when nokia said they were going to stop making them.
no other phone is small enough and will click in and charge in the nokia car kit.
I just don't understand people who will buy a phone with more functions than the new rampent rabbit, but never use them.

Yeah Jase has just picked up an N95, he reckons it just cuts out when the battery dies rather than warning you first? What other gb versions are there Alex?
I've just read Micheal's iPhone thread and don't fancy having to piss around unlocking things and downloading stuff, I usually fuck that part up if it doesn't involve spanners or a big hammer! Is this the case with iPhone's?

If you are going as big as the N95, then the HTC TytnII totally kickes it's arse - touch screen, full sliding qwerty, built in gps that you can use tomom, copilot, mio or any other pda software. Battery last ages too.

Palm Centro, only got a 1,3MP camera but other than that it can do what the others can do. Cheaper than the iPhone and people who had both usually likes the Centro better since you can use 3rd party applications on it. Offical support for 4GB card but works fine with 6 & 8 GB.
I havent used a Nokia or Ericsson for 10 years, smarthphone FTW.

w880's are shockingly bad phones. They are so unreliable its unreal. A mate has one and it never works properly and just ignores you or freezeswhen you do something on it. When I got my n95 i was expecting it to be a pig for reliability(being a symbian), but apart from the size i cannot fault any of it. Its brilliant

I recently got a Samsung G800, but I only use it for calls, texting and taking pictures, the camera's brilliant.
It's the same size as the Nokia N95 but I didn't like mine so got rid after 2 months.

people say the n95 is fragile but mine is a tough bastard. I bought it with a huuge crack in the top (why i got it soo cheap at the time), so it must have had a hefty drop. I also was bored once and was sliding it down the ramp at the local skate park and still works fine

on the n95 you can turn warning tones on or off for those of you that are not getting the warning beeps when off, you don't get that annoying nokia tune when you switch it on, but then you don't get the battery warning either
the original n95 takes 8GB memory cards and i love mine

I've just oredered the new LG Viewty which looks like a decent phone.
Unfortunatley, Orange wouldnt re-new my old contract of 2550 any network anytime minutes & unlimited text messages for £35 per month
They've offered me 1800 any netwok anytime minutes & unlimitd text messages for £35 per month.

Is that a business plan or a personal one, available to everyone?

They said I get a £40 per month loyalty discount because I've been with them for so long
But it's still not better than the deal they gave me last time (2550 any network any time minutes & unlimited text messages)

Yeah i'm currently with Orange mate, contract is up in about 6 weeks time or so, could hang on and get a £64 quid cheque at the end of the contract but tbh I can't be fucked as it's been a con from Carphone Warehouse all along!
Luke, it's a bloke really isn't it!

But remember they wont do you a good deal until the day your contract is up.

OK, what you need to do is wait until the day your contract is up (they wont do you a good deal until then) then give Orange Retentions a call on 08000 790 272 & talk to that team, they're the one's who can pull strings to get you a good deal
