Well as a reward for working so hard on our extension all week my wife surprised me and bought me it today while she was in Asda

It took me the best part of an hour to get the update, it got 3/4 done and failed 
Restarted and it did it 2nd time around in about 10 mins.
Ive been reading some forums and people are saying theyve had upto 10 or more fails!
As for online racing, yes its very annoying with idiots being sore losers... Ive had people ram me off the road when I go past them on a straight, and others ram you from behind on a straight rather than just go past you after getting a tow in the slipstream
I did read that the more you play, the better your skill level and when it matches you for races after a while you start to get put into races with more sensible drivers
After a couple of hours racing online last night I was seeing hardly any idiots.
Has anyone else got a wheel? Makes a huge difference

The one I got was a temp measure to keep me going until the official GT one comes out.
Its not the best available, but does the job well enough and is another league away from using the controller!
Your steering is SO much smoother, and you can control the throttle ALOT more accurately in the corners.
I got this one from Game, which has Ł20 if you buy it with Prologue for those that havent bought it yet

You can go balls out and get this one, but Im not sure if the clutch pedal is supported, it also has a H pattern box, but I dont think it makes THAT much difference really...

Eventually I plan on getting this one, for the in race settings adjustment support, although all wheels can have the buttons reconfigured, so really the one Ive got now will support it too anyway

Dan, are you doing the update from the GTTV menu once the game has started? If not, just say no when the first prompt pops up, and do it from the menu - should work better for some reason.

Has it got the race where you start last (of about 16 cars) in the GTR, and you have 1 lap to win the race at Suzuka?
it did have on the Jap version....took many attempts to get the win!

hmm can't remember if i did an integra one in the jap game.......the GTR race was against R8's, F430's, another GTR and M3's etc....was murder, had to get EVERY corner spot on, and there's time penalties if you collide too heavily too, very difficult!

westy, pro just makes it a bit more realistic takes off abs you can properly steer the car with the throttle you need to be very careful with makes the cars stupidly rear end happy, any one been doing time trials arcade mode? limits the cars to use the same tires and ranks your lap times against every one else using the same car on that track and with the same realism settings, I am becoming addicted......

tuned evo,on the oval im ranked about 13th,but im fooked if i can go any faster...i didnt lift once....

In the comments section of his most recent post on the PlayStation.Blog, SCEA producer Takau Imasaki mentioned that in-game voice chat and a private race setting will be available for Gran Turismo 5 Prologue in later updates. Now this news comes in as semi-official as it was not part of the original post, but was made in response to a reader's question. Imasaki wrote, "Private races with buddies and in-game chat are all in the works... but will not be ready from day one. Will keep you posted on the progress!"

i can't wait for them to update it then....we'll have a proper Pf race going on 
just imagine next year when the full game comes out and we can tune fook out of the cars and race each other.....there will be no need for real cars we'll be doing 206.2mph in our pretend cars

Game are doing a good deal on PS3s at mo, 300notes for PS3 and two games, which are GT5 Prologue and that Rainbow Six Las Vegas which looks pretty viscous.
Think I might go get it later while I can still afford it. I only 100% want a PS3 for the new Grand Theft Auto game, but thats out in less than a month so may as well go get one...
