Default Carp Fishing

My mum lives on a farm park with her fella who is the security guy on there, shes been there for about 6 years, when i first seen the place there was to nice size lakes on the farm land so i asked the owner if there were any fish in them but there wasnt,so i asked him if i could take my carp from my garden pond up there and put them in one of his lakes,he said yeh no problem. So off i went got my fish the biggest being a 36Ibs ghost koi/mirror hybrid and a load of mirrors and common carp and took them up and released them into his lake.A couple of years later we netted the lake to find thousands of small carp,They had bred like wildfire. So i had a talk with the owner if i could put a load of them in his other lake and hopefully open it up to the campers for fishing in the future and again his reply was no problem,so thats what we did.Anyway three years went by and i went up there today to see what the fish were like, fished in the margins in one spot for 6 hours and had over 30 fish from 2Ibs to 6Ibs,fish are in great condition and again breeding like wildfire.total success,so im well chuffedheres a couple of pics of the fish to show you the condition.

I know what you mean mate, kept koi most of my life and a lot of carp, altho koi being in the same family there not as hardy as there family members.Carp are vary hardy fish but i have seen some bad cases in lakes were they just dont take to the water and its sad when you see it.

The lake is probably three quarters of an acre its not a massive lake by any means but quit deep.It will probably be netted every couple of years to keep the numbers at a reasonable level. Its also got a small narrow stream running into it one end and an overflow at the other so clean water going into it all the time.So theres a lot of natural food going into the lake all the time.

Alright chaps,

Its nice to see that people who are into fast fords also enjoy carp fishing, thas great...

I live on a fishing complex (owned by my parents) its amazing in the summer its like a different planet its beautiful, heres a link to our website sapphirelakes.co.uk click on carp lake and at the bottom theres a link it says carp gallery click on that and theres afew pictures of some of our stock.

We have some nice carp the biggest common carp we have had out is 33lb 14ounce and that was yesturday morning by my mate the jammy wanker, and the biggest mirror is 30lb 8ounce, and a big stock of 20lb+ carp.

Cheers,
Ric.

Likewise.

Still enjoy it though apart from those days when I catch absolutely nothing! Not been in 2008 actually....
