if you have cosworth 4x4 calipers you don't need to drill out the hubs

if you have mondy v6 calipers you do and yes 12mm , they are basically the same calipers but larger bolts

to check - take off your old caliper and see if the bolt goes through the hole , if i remember right you have to cut down the bolt too

the standard bolt obviously goes throught the hub but its to small for the cosworth caliper, the cosworth caliper bolts are to big for the hub bolt hole....

it does need drilling out, but im not sure to what size..

i thought it was 12mm, and my mate thinks its 12mm, but i just wanted to see what people on here think, but then SiZT said drill it out to 10mm...

if your standard bolt doesn't fit the "cossy" calipers then you have a mondeo v6 calipers not cosworths

you need to drill the hubs out to 12mm and probably cut i few threads off the bolts

the v6 calipers are basically the same as 4x4's but have different sized bolts , you will need to drill out the hubs and also space out approx 1mm

but , if like me , you cant find any 1mm washers, i had to mill 2mm off the face of the carrier and use 3mm washers !

i also found that the outside edge of the discs caught the carrier so took a grinder to the carrier too !

the mondy v6 calipers bigger than the 4x4 ones? this isnt going to cause a problem with clearance is it using v6 ones?

if you can find the part numbers they are :
(all right hand side)

escort 4x4 cosworth (r/h) - V92AB 2L231 AA
sierra 4x4 cosworth (r/h) - 91GB 2L231 AA
mondeo V6 MK1/early mk2 (r/h) - 93BB 2L231 BA
mondeo V6 MK2 97on (r/h) - 97BG 2L231 BA

i am 99% sure you will have mondy calipers though or at least mondy carriers

then he's talking crap mate

the only cossie calipers that used the M12 bolts were the ones fitted to the granada/scorpio cosworth's from 92 onwards

for the hassle, you might as wlel have got some mondeo mk3 calipers and some ST170 discs and a simple 300mm conversion that was ready to bolt on with just the bolt holes opening up to the required 12mm

just wondering on the caliper...is it true that the 4x4 cosworth and v6 mondeo caliper is the same apart from the piston size? (cosworth is bigger)
