Different shape combustion chambers, the pistons are different on 2wd to 4x4.

Fitting a 4x4 head on a 2wd block with std pistons will raise the C/R by approximately .2 so you would end up with 8.2:1 as the piston bowls are shallower in the 2wd piston.....
