Default Pf performance issues ( please help )

Well fellas rather than just moan i thought it may help if we do a honest pole on the PF performance rather than have the usuall " well its ok for me with my gazillion gigg connection " replies

Please be honest and say how it realy is for you now and does it differ at various times of day etc.

Speed wise seems spot on.
I do seem to get "Page cannot be displayed" now and then. However seems to be no pattern to that.
Not complaining as a refresh seems to resolve.

ISP - Virgin Media ADSL (NOT CABLE) 2MB

Has been spot on for me except the past few days where its timing out EVERY post and I have to refresh or try again to view what I want.

It has sorted itself out again the past few hours so we shall see.

Ps Im only on 2meg broadband. TISCALI.

I get that exact same thing about 3 times a day but only of Pf.
I've tried re-booting the modem & all sorts but it doesn't help.

Other than that, the speed is spot on.

Paul, can you amend the poll & add in the option of 'page cannot be dsplayed' please?

Paul,

It has been shit, especially the past few days.

I would guess that around 75%+ of the pages I try to load up on here fail, and I have to refresh the links about 5-10 times.

I have just formatted my PC and its just as shit.

It took me over half an hour to try to post a thread earlier today!

It would possibly help if all those who are getting poor performances to say who their ISP is to see if there's a pattern.

ISP: Eclipse 2meg
Performance > very good

Can everyone whos replied please edit and state what Internet provider they have. We may be able to establish a link to those who cannot get on. For Example, Tiscali is looking like a link at the moment.

I had issues until i reset my router. It was timing out on pages and crashing the browser. Was a real pain.

May i also sugegst anyone having problems download adaware and run a full system sweep for spyware on their PC's. This should be done weekly.

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
(Its totally free)

See if anyone can beat teh record we had on PF in about 2005 of 3500 pieces of seperate spyware on his PC. Damned if i can remember who it was now,....
