Galaxy towbar / LPG tank
i want to put a towbar on my 02 galaxy, but am unsure if the LPG tank fitted in place of the sparewheel will interfere with the fitting. anyone have any experience?

the saving in fuel costs will make up for the increased road tax paul - LPG is half the price of petrol so i save at least £20 on a tank full, so it only takes 15 tank fulls to make up the difference.
i guess i need to ask the makers of towbars really - there's Witter, and who else? no chance of an answer for several days over the bank holiday now though

i thought that LPG vehicles should get a reduced rate, but the previous owner has not sorted that out. i will do that before the current tax runs out.
haven't watched it yet paul you haven't stitched me up and put some dodgy animal porn on there instead or anything have you?

yeah, i had a quick look on there and you can get them for £70 but that's generally without any wiring and relay and they're all miles away. i'll come up with something though, thanks all for your help

Nick,
I shouldn't think it will be a problem, its unlikely that the tow bar will connect to anything but the chassis rails.
The only thing that might be a arse is where the pipework for the feed and filler and routed, if your stuck for any pipe or fittings drop me a PM as I have anything you would need on the van.
Stu- a: when the fuck did your car do 173 mph !!! fair play lol
b: if your handy with the fabricating I'm sure you can make some new brackets if required, not a big job at all

fitted a westfalia towbar today - quite easy as it has bars that go inside the 'chassis rails'. LPG tank got in the way slightly putting the bolts in on that side, but weedled them in with a couple of tools.

no, it was 'professionally' fitted by the previous owner. not difficult for you, but my insurers asked if was done by a certified installer

Glad to hear the tow bar went on ok.
Anyone can fit a LPG system, it has to be upto cop 11 standard though which should be easy enough for anyone with half a brain.
Our branch in Rochford can do a cop 11 test for you if you had a untested vehicle
