We do LOADS of Power FC's. Excellent choice.

What do you want to know?

They are a common choice on Subarus because chips aren't really readily available for them and people prefer remaps.

Yep, good choice IMO.. get a hand controller too and even if you don't 'use' it then it's a good visual gauge for temps and knock etc.. great bit of kit.

There's a few peeps who'll fit and map them for you too, 2 names spring to mind.. Andy Forrest (oop North) or Simon AKA jollygreenmonster (down south, from Kent way) Both come highly reccomended.

not sure i like the big " controller " on the side of the dash, would prefer a more discrete gauge,,,,,,,, looks like some sort of price checking thing in a supermarket or the computer used for issuing parking tickets

Ginge, you don't have to have the Commander on display. It's a positive thing that not many aftermarket ECU's can offer, don't see that as a negative!!

fair enough lol

I actually liked mine on display as it was handy seeing various temps (inlet air, water, plus knock levels etc etc) and I thought it looked far classier than a load of dial gauges scattered around in various pods.

we used to do loads of board conversions, for the extra money its worth going for the Power FC if you plan on keeping the car for a while.

Guzzler, I'm not sure if you have used the boards that Zen does, I know they haven't been around that long and come highly rated.

Christian - You may know Ren (Richard), he knows a lot about these boards I mention, I know he has been mapping with them so I presume anyone can

PFCs? Plug straight in to stock ECU socket. Thats the main advantage they got over more advanced stuff, you just plug em in, no fucking with looms etc.

*** POST HIJAK ***

Christian, are these Apexi units engine / motor specific ?

The ones I've seen on flea-bay have been labelled up for specific cars but does is that just for convenience or can you get one and re-map it for anything ?

They whole/only reason they good is they are plug-n-play, and some have specfic functions/menus suited to that car and the mods it usually has.

They not particularly flashy or powerful ECUs, they pretty basic in fact, so its about the last one id be wanting to buy to adapt to a different car.

So if you have a Toyota 20v from a Levin and you want an ECU for it, there is no point in buying an Apexi FC from a Subaru for example ?
