Default Who thinks i know fook all about Cosworths?

Very interested in this seeing as i done most of it myself and yet many claim my advice is not to be trusted I think the car speaks for itself..the spec aswell!

Any point me being here?...I dont get much business from here...again connected with above?

It seems that some look at all my posts word for word to then flouesent marker any mistakes for ridicule purpose Whats the point in being part of a community if no one takes anything i say seriously...why do i bother posting?...We got an administrator that looks at my posts also for unhelpful comments...and no i aint gonna bring any examples up...you know what you do already.

Yes maybe an attension seeking post..but justified if no one cares for what i write...if this will be a better place without me just say...i feel i stand up for DIY rights...maybe this aint that kinda board.

Comradery between petrol heads?....Yeah fooking right....get over the hatred for me as is it really worth the stress for you?

you know a lot about them, but not everything. nobody does.

if you post something that is incorrect, you can expect that someone will correct it.

if you post something not based on facts or proven comparative data, you can expect it to be questioned.

this is a discussion board. do you expect that you can post your opinion and for it not to be discussed? maybe you should start your own cult and write your own 'bible'?

this does not mean that you are not liked or cannot be trusted.

u know more than me and i know fook all

in all seriousness Phil - i respect what you do as you are trying to learn yourself which is good but there are some points where it would be best let a "pro" do it such as checking the fueling/setup etc.

Your posts are funny as fook sometimes and other times your posts sometimes piss me off - but fook it thats life.

I personally think you are a pretty good character for this site

Phil,

By you own nature you entice abuse from others.... some unwarranted but some is just.

I basically look at you as a wind up merchant and deal with you as such, hence why you don't sweat me.

You are obviously not thick, but you are a bellend to yourself at times.

You certainly are an attention seeking whore...... but I know a lot worse faults with many people.

It don't matter who you, when on a public BBS you will ALWAYS have that chance of being abused and questioned..... thats the internet is. If you accept this (and try reading more to minimise the chance of you looking a nob ) you wont go far wrong.

Anyway....

When's the car going on the rollers gayboy.... and when are you going to get those heaps of shit BD10's out!!! (see Matt's RR graph of Del's car running BD10's on my post)

Phil, I can't help but think this may be to do with the post I was talking to you on - I for one have, up until this point, (since the whole last name change) had no problems with what you have posted.

You seem to be doing alright with the car - so you are far from knowing nothing.

We all make mistakes from time to time, it's nothing to worry about.

Have you thought about setting up a message board your self??
IMAford.com how about that
you can moderate it yourself then and we get bonus's-gold stars for agreeing with you and a ban for slating!!!!!
I personally like having you on this board and it would be worse off without you but you do take the piss sometimes

I really couldn't care less if you could balance a cossie on your nob, as long as you enjoy what you do, why should you give a fook what anyone else thinks? Fair play old chap, you always seem to give things a go yourself.

However, I occassionally browse through your posts and 99% of them start with "I'm not attention seeking but....." or "Who thinks I'm....." or "Sum me up in 10 words" or "me me me me me".

You seem a bit hung up on people hating you, maybe if you didn't keep drawing attention to yourself through posts like this, you wouldn't feel alienated.

Phil, you absolutely THRIVE on ANY attention and if everyone was nice to you, you hate it.

Remember on the Scoobyboard in the muppet forum, where everyone accepted you and you HATED it, as no-one reacted to you !

Dave...i actually put a post up asking wether i should bother with the DIY story as you point out to many its boring....BUT i got an overwhelming...KEEP doin it.

Ok would it please you for me to take it to a pro and give them loads of cash to pull it apart and start again and then comment that DIY storys are boring?

Tiff..IMA has gone......but that didnt stop people acting different to me!...So now i am gradually being forced back to the old me....oh sorry scrub that i just saw Fagins reply ref beru lead..ROFL

BUT and i am gonna admit something now...Dave you have hit the nail on the head ....because i at the start when i got my cossie, was told by everyone that DIY is not viable on a cossie and its a pro job......so i thought well lets see how hard it really is....now that pissed many off...so yes maybe i do it to rub peoples noses in it...the haters that is...as they must cringe when they see a post from me......i got quoted 12k for 500bhp.......then i nearly went to scs for an 8k build then i thought no i can do this myself and have any spec i want....whilst proving it wasnt as hard as people made out...the whol tony @ turbosystems come to ahead because he was only talking/dealing with me to try get me to build my engine as i was to inferior ...So yes the admiration off the little person is what i like as you dont have to have certain qualitys to succeed...just look at Brom...from potting shed to full greenhouse

Not dissing the leads mate.... it's just that Tiff was adamant that my 909 leads were mullered and that these (I cant bare to say it again) BERU leads would solve my problems..... in fact if you have any problem Dr. Tiff prescribes BERU leads to sort out any problems!

Bless him.

respect to ya phil for what YOU have done to your car,
when i 1st met ya you was saying how you done the work yourself it takes a lot of guts to rip your engine apart and rebuild it to a high spec,i started doing my cossie engine myself as the cost of tuners was a bit too expensive for me,when you get into it they aint that difficult to work on,but i would not touch the mapping as i know fuck all about it
you know more than me.

All joking aside Phil, I think you've done a great job
Just like Adam (blackRS) did with his gearbox that time.
I guess we all have the capacity to replicate what the professionals do, it's just that the non professional takes longer.
I've tried plastering though, and I'm shite at that!!
Don't forget those professionals on here though that helped you with short cuts to the finished product, eh?

Phil,
I don't think you need worry - as I know that without the help you have had from everyone, you would be nowhere . What I am in awe of, is the fact how everyone STILL helps you even after you slate them... .

I think you know a fair bit about the old YB setup by now Phil.. The fact is though that your not in the same league as any tuner at all simply because what you have done is used three years of trawling through internet forums and befriending tuners etc to give you teh info you need for free... kind of like an online workshop manual just for your use.

If i bought you, say, a Golf GTTDi or maybe a Skoda Rs, what would you do as far as tuning it goes? Would the customer have to wait another 3years whilst you joined Vw and Skoda forums to get some idea how they worked? And befriended a few specialists to glean info from before you ultimately upset em cos you did it wrong?

Remember that the "Pro's" you constantly refer to and put down cos "You didnt have to use em" can do what you just did in a 20th of the time, do it better and they can do it to ANY car at all without phoning a friend or consulting teh internet as they understand the actuall concepts behind the methods used. This means they also know what AFR to aim at, and they know the limitations of a hotwire system as well as the benefits of throttle angle speed density as opposed to AMMS but will always bear in mind its inherent tuning limitations when considering using it with over 2.5bar absolute pressure once modified.......

In a nutshell... when you ask how to do something, you then just follow the instructions given like a lapdog.. evidence of this is above where you say folk have given you "Bad Advice".. if you knew what you were doing and didnt really need tuners, that wouldnt be possible would it, as you would say "Thats not right mate" instead of doing what they said like a knob?

Ultimately i will end this essay by saying, yes, i think you have done very well indeed with your cossie and i hope to see its power and reliability proved to teh world to put the full stop after your achievement, but dont let it go to your head saying silly things like "The tuners hate me proving you can DIY without their help" cos you just make us laugh. Your success story is no more sucessfull than that of a man who built a model car by following the instructions in the manual. Hes an assembler, not a car manufacturer... get my point?

Maybe something for you to think about Phil, but im sure you will just find some reason to see this as the whoile world hates you yet again...

Stu...thats not offensive at all because i have a better reply.

I started with NO mechanical/electrical experience and in the TWO years i think i have achieved quite alot.

YES i have had mucho help from some nice guys and some who where trying to get my money ...so there is your befriending out the way.

The killer responce here is.....was YOU Stu born a mechanic/mapper then Did you not LEARN from reading..i do beleive i heard you mention you had no college training??...Did you not ever ask for advice/help?Answer NO to that then you is my God and shold be knighted! So now that 2 years of YB fiddling has now enabled less questions over the period as i LEARN like ALL you tuners did
