Default Tyre size for 8" rim
What is the optimum size for a 8" rim...225? what width rim would a 245 width tyre be suited to... 8"? 9"?

Depends on the make of tyre, but generally a 245 fits between 8-9.5

Can fit allosrts, 8 would be fine from a 195 (im sure less, but no modern ford needs less) to a 245 at most (where it gets a bit baloon-spec)

245s would sit best on about a 9.

225 or 235.....245 almost too wide, although can be fitted....

i have 245's on my 9".

on the 8" i used 225's

But if your fitting to a lowered 3dr, would this be to wide?? Whats the ideal size to keep any modifiying arches etc to a minimum.

yes would look silly on a 8" rim.

especially on a 17" rim.

I'd say 235 considering the M3 Evo has 225 on a 7.5, and 245 on an 8.5.
