Hey i was talking to someone and they said that it was possible to be able to hear/see someone on webcam, on msn for example, even if they havent activated it themselves???

is this possible? cos my webcam is in my room... and well... its on all teh time.... should i turn it off when im not using it??!!!!

Its a peice of piss if your PC has a trojan on it, something like Back Orifice from a few years ago will do that sooooo easily.

Most Virus scanners these days will pickup stuff like that these days though!. Get a Virus Guard, Firewall and put the cover over it/unplug it

 

so your saying if your logged in to msn and your cams plugged in but NOT actually started up ,people could still see u? how is that possible? normally they see what u see and if its not on then they should get nothing?

 

If a family member from the us can fix my pc via my BB connection, I'm sure as hell they can look at your webcam

but surely your cam has to power on!...the green light (if you have one) should have to come on surely other wise theres nothing powering through the usb!

as far as i know it is possible but im sure that the light would come on the cam if its got one.
i knowif they use sub7 or something its got an easy interface for fucking with people comps

my cam is always plugged in cos it doesnt have switch on it and its a pain getting to the plugs.... im still worried!!! hehe... i think ill leave it off for the timebeing..
