Default anybody from kent

i am wanting to get to the channel tunnel tomorrow for just after 8pm but have concerns over the journey time as operation stack is in operation so the M20 is closed between junctions 8 & 9

any ideas on how long it will take to get to the terminal in folkestone from the M25/M26? i'm guessing the diversion via the A20 is going to be miserable.

or any suggestions to avoid the area and take an alternative route from bracknell

thanks for any help

You could go down by guildford and crawley and then ashford (ie staying well south of the M20 till right up to ashford), but TBH at that time of day (ie going through guildford way at about 6pm) the traffic would be a nightmare anyway.

I'd leave about midday and take a slow drive and stop for a pub lunch on route. Traffic jams eat my head at the best of times

M2 then A2 will see you do the trip from the M25 in just ove an hout and a half. Just watch out for the specs on the roadworks on the M2.

Am in SIttingbourne so can can keep an eye on the trafic for you from this end.

Fuck all that

Just go down the A2 from the M25, the A2 becomes the M2 just before the Medway bridge, follow it all the way to the Canterbury turn off then follow signs to Folkstone/Dover.

that's all well and good, but the A2 is further round the M25 and may have jams queuing for the dartford tunnel. you can't win either way in this part of the country it's so overcrowded

the junction you want is junction 11 on the M20 so if you are coming the other way you've got to go round the whole of dover on the A2 then up the M20 and then turn around at junction 10 to come back round again

this is probably going to add about 30 odd miles to your going to there trip

the way i've listed is probably the easiest method to get there and it's fairly traffic free once you get past the hole that is canturbury
