Pedal bike commuter/road options?
Currently I am running a free mtb with slicks as a commuter. I'm looking for something a bit more jazzy as I will be starting a new job in September that has bike to work. The bike will also be used for some training mileage as I have a couple of 24 hour mtb races further on in the year.
I was looking at the cotic roadrat http://www.cotic.co.uk/product/bikes/roadrat/flat_bar/ with flat bars, does anyone have any other ideas of this type of bike that is a mix of flat bars, road bike with disc brake option etc. I thought genesis used to do something similar but can not see it on their site?
Cheers for any ideas
Martin

Found a kona PHD/Dr Dew, Cube SL road team/race, planet X kaffenback so there are a few options that look good.

I'm looking at buyign a cyclo-cross bike, and wacking some slicks on.. - The hardtail that I currently use is good, but I think it should be used for the odd blat around the woods rather than commuting on :blub: :blub:

My friend has done that but i dont want the drop bars so would rather start with something that has the right geometry for flat bars as a converted cyclo cross should end up too short. He got a genesis vapour which is a really nice bike and is pretty light.

Im using my brothers 18 year old Diamond Back mountain bike at the moment fitted with a set of road tires to get to work and back, it does the job fine for me. It was a decent spec bike back in its day.
