The gearknob will either screw off, or simply pull off - depending which type it is (don't smack yourself in the face though, lol).

Probably best to try pulling first, as if you try to screw it off and it's a pull off one, you may damage the inards.

Ebay for the gaiter...

just to add that if itsa pull off one then you will have to buy a new one as they break when removed

Ah, maybe that's what I was thinking of - got it the wrong way around (was quite a few years ago that I changed mine)
