Question MOT Emissions regs

Right the question is;

With my old xr3 (1983) if i stick in a 2.0 zetec from a 2000 mondeo will the emissions be tested on the age of the engine or the age of the car?

Can someone post the relevent piece of documentation to show the answer with no doubts.

As above it would be tested as a 1983 car

Test according to which is older, engine or vehicle.
e.g. A 1995 car fitted with a 1991 engine (of whatever make), test to 1991 standards for emission purposes.

Note: The onus is on the vehicle presenter
to prove engine age.

I don't forsee proving engine age being an issue in a 25 year old car.
