Default Quick question about Cossie Amal Valve Jets....

How many are in one as standard?

Which pipes are they fitted?

What is the norm for rejetting for 22psi?

Cheers

You should be able to run more than 22 psi froma t34 and a stage 3 setup. If your engine is in good health of course

Hi......the c port goes like this...the smaller the hole the more boost...the R port is the bigger the hole the more boost.

Its so diffcult to say the jet size needed...put it this way...a WD40 tube in R and nothing in C gives about 2.2bar .....thats on a -31 and modded T34...trial and error mate start off with nothing in R and nothing in C and go smaller (in C) gradually till you get 1.5bar...becareful though and watch the boost gauge if it goes above 1.5bar let throttle OFF.

if your useing a -31 use a foot pump or bike pump and set the pre load to 14 psi so use the pump to put pressure against the acturator and it should start to open at 14 psi then put the pipes back on as they should be c= compressor w = wastgate r= return then go out in the car but dont connect the amal valve yuo should hold around 14 psi boost then connect the amal valve and see what boost your holding then if you need to hold more boost drill out the jet in R only a little bit at a time till you get what you want when changing both jet sizes it will change boost spikes ect which you would need to talk to stu about

IF THIS IS IN CORRECT JIM WILL LET US KNOW

So if you are starting out as i am with an Amal Valve and NO restrictors, Ive got to get 2 standard restrictors and fit them into both the C and R ports???

Then go from there?

Not sure who that last comment is aimed at, BUT if you come on here and give Duff information then you've got to expect to be corrected.

So you didn't make a mistake then? and not notice?
and it got corrected by someone else didn't it???
I did read the reply, hence i noticed YOU made a mistake, and it was found by someone else....

Typo mistake eh Nice...considering the C and the R aren't even on the same row on the keyboard......How many fingers have you got???
You appear to be inept to me.....at typing if nothing else.

You say you wont help anybody in future, well if this is how you offer advice then thats probably a good thing
See ya

Jim was correct in pointing out my typo...considering i'd spent all day adjusting jets in the amal... I got it mixed up...as you see from the nest paragraph...it contradicted the the typo

As for the nasty e-mail....yeah well viscious wernt it...asking you why you encouraged Jim to make out that that i meant what i wrote...and asking why you still have a vendetta...is it cause DIY is taking business from the pros?

WTF? mountains and molehills spring to mind phil

phil, you gave someone incorrect advice (for whatever reason), i corrected you so that cosrush wouldnt do what you said and then wonder why his car is only boosting to about 9psi... lol

anyway, does it fookin matter

alan, also i personally wouldnt use the method you describe as its putting a hell of a lot of preload on a -31. if yours is set up this way then it probably done for a reason... but on 90% of cars you'd set it to about 7psi (half hole ish) preload

alan... youre saying to use 14psi preload on a -31 actuator...

i'm saying that that is not what the actuator is designed to hold.

are you sure youre not confusing a -31 and a -34? as a -34 has a 14psi(ish) opening pressure

some tuners do certain things for certain reasons. i kow for example that karl will use "different" methods than the "norm" with his amal/actuaotr setups on certain cars...
nothing wrong with them in any way whatsoever, its just a different way of doing things.

i still stand by what im saying tho im MOST cases you should set the actuator to half hole preload which will be 7psi on a -31 actuator!

ps phil, get over yourelf its not like ive been planning somesecret "lets rip it out of phil" plan with stu is it we havent spoken to each otehr in about a month ffs
