Is it a newly registered user as well?
If so,
Don't sent the item out until he has emailed you a few times and threatened to report you to ebay, to give the payment time to clear.

The proper way is to check that the Paypal transaction is eligible for seller protection. There is a section in the Paypal payment that shows this. Often they say 'Ineligible', usually when the registered address from the Ebay transaction and the registered address on the Paypal transaction don't match.

If it does say that it's eligible for seller protection, you should be fairly safe.

The thing is, you're not in the driving seat atall with Paypal, they can and do claw payments back weeks or even months after the event with no real explanation, however, in my experience these are ALWAYS ones that, by coincidence, weren't eligible for protection.
