Default R888s Against F1s

What are peoples general thoughts about both tyres. Toyo R888s and Goodyear F1s. How do they compare? dry and wet weather and wear?

that both tyres my 205 runs

you cant compare a semi slick with a road tyre

one is fooking awesome in the dry

the other is a road tyre

Are the R888s not to good in the wet then?
I know they are a semi slick but are they not said to be road and track?

but you cant really compare them

the r888's will out perfrom the f1's 10 feld over in the dry

the r888's will work in the wet, EXCEPT for standing water

f1's were made for all weathers and perform in the wet very well, but in the dry, they have no chance against the r888

But still grip VERY well for a ROAD tyre You make the F1's sound shit in the dry

Basically, they are probably both the best for their classes R888's for tack, and F1's for road

i'm not making them sound shit,

else i would never have bought them i even bought them for the mrs car too

what i'm saying is how can you compare these two tyres???

you can only compare the r888's against tyres lke the djo2's and a408's as they are the same "type" of tyre

Spiky

I was agreeing with you!

You cannot compare them at all, hence me saying what I did

They are both GOOD tyres for their purpose!

R888's for track, and F1's for road

Can you not get either of these sizes under your arches?

215/50 ZR16 90W 2G
225/50 ZR16 92W 2G

The sidewalls are stiff on R888s, to the point where you could go up a size in aspect ratio, and not notice any more flex/ lateral movement over a more 'conventional' tyre.

I used 195/50/15 R888s on my Pug 205 when a 195/45/15 would have been perhaps more ideal - as long as they fitted on the car I was determined to have them as the dry grip is awesome, and makes a compromise elsewhere well worth it.

Martin is the cheapest place I've found for the R888s too
