I think there are 2 significant groups of people on PF.
Group 1 - Those that LOVE Fords and will have Ford running through their veins until the day they die.
Group 2 - Those that have a Ford because its cheap fun.
I'm in Group 2.
I take no moral pleasure or increased status from the fact that I drive a Mk4 Escort at 33 years of age. I have it because it's fast as fuck and thats it.
Sorry to go off-topic slightly.
I just can't see how, if you were earning £4000 per month, you would only pitch your sights on a Ford? They are generally unreliable and arean't actually that good in terms of performance and handling.

I spent 7 years working in the City, I earned some serious money during that time. Upshot was I got pissed off with the travelling, pissed off with the bureaucracy and red tape so I jacked.
I still earn very good money now still but have a far better lifestyle in as much as I don't spend most waking hours at work and don't have anywhere near as much aggro.

I just dont get the status thing that people judge people on with their car. I own a 07 renault traffic van bought brand new, an Audi A3 S line 170 TDi 07 plate bought 5 months old and the RSi. I have got 45k worth of vehicles there but if i drove the RSI somewhere folk would think i was poor and thats all i could afford the way some people talk on here! then round the corner from me a guy lives in an ex council house with a 911 on the drive...so he'll get the opposite judgement

Question should be:
how much do u earn a year basic, based on no more than 40 hrs. I do 9-5 Mon-Fri with an hour for lunch for example.
Not a week, or month etc - it needs to be averaged out.

The question was "who earns a thousand pounds a week",
As i said i can just get to a grand if i do a saturday, then i get my cars slated saying i should be rolling around in cars like Phil, unfortunatly i have five kids and a detached house that takes a big chunk off my money so the fact i run around in a shitty old Ford............................sorry.
Steve

Id love to earn more money, but i find what i do already to be incredibly stressful and surely as the scale of earning increases, so does the stress level!
I take home £1100 a month (5 day week - 8am to 5:30pm with a 30min lunch) which is reletively fuck all compared to alot on here, but if i was on site i know for a fact i could increase that to £250-300 a day. I understand the demand for QS's is quite high, especially reliable/good quality ones!

I met the richest guy in Wales recently, his name is Terry something or other. He's started and sold 2 or 3 IT companies, both bought by Microsoft. He owns the Celtic Manor amongst other things and he's a genuinely nice, down to earth chap.
Lee - what you need to bear in mind as far as millionaires go is in real terms it's usually all bollocks. There are tens of thousands of 'millionaires' in the UK but that doesn't mean they have a million in the bank cash. The vast majority are made up of houses and tangible assets, most of which aren't cash. If a guy has a house worth £2m and has a mortgage of £1.5m technically he's a millionaire as he has an asset worth £2m. However, what you need to look at is his net asset position ie. value of the assets minus the liabilities. If that is over a million then you could say he is a genuine millionaire, but it still doesn't mean he has a million in cash, he could only manage that if he realised all his assets and turned them into cash.

Any good businessman knows, "owning an expensive car isn't going to earn you money" simple
And £1k a week, paa, i spend more than that

Right place, right time, work hard and well, get on with people. Works for me.
As for Porkie, if he is a millionaire then fair play to him I'd be the first to shake his hand as he's done it himself. My own view is it's nobody else's business how much he does or doesn't earn - the fact is he's done it himself and from what I know of him he's a sound fella.
All credit to him.
