PassionFord is no Longer in France. Welcome to the UK.
As per my previous announcement a couple of days ago, i am pleased to announce that Passionford has now been moved over to its own pair of servers in the United Kingdom.
This is hoped to solve a lot of the slowdown experienced during peak traffic times. The forum software will be heavily and professionally monitored and if there is any suggestion of it causing problems (And we think it is causing issues, but could yet be proved wrong) then the software we run (PHPBB 2.x) will also be changed as well in order to totally eradicate speed and reliability issues once and for all.
"If" we have to change then we will migrate to the latest version of VBulletin in the near future but be aware that it does present a massive technical challenge with gold memberships/garage features and a host of other problems, which is why Julien and I didnt do it, but if needs must, then we will but it’s totally up to IB how they proceed with it as my future here is still under discussion...
Please do not report any bugs or slowdowns you experience tonight, let her settle down and see how it goes in the morning as Stu and his excellent team will be working on a few tweaks here and there as you would expect after any server change.
Please be aware that you or your aquaintances being able to access passionford here on the new server will be totally dependent on your ISP updating their DNS as for a while they will still point passionford.com traffic to empty servers. Soem of us are lucky and it works right away, but it has been known for some to take at least 24hrs. The timescales for the DNS changes with your individual ISP's are totally beyond our control.
Thanks for your time and patience over the last few months.
Hopefully we are now rapidly approaching the end of the recent uncertainties regarding Passionford and i am sure that both Mine and Passionford's future will be carved in stone and announced in the very near future.
Finally, Cars2007, you and your team performed a flawless and error free move from France to the UK, many thanks pal, great work. Take a Bow.

How do you know whether or not your viewing/posting this on the new uk server or the old france one then?
A chap above seems to be able to establish this?

If he WAS posting via the French server, then we on the UK server wouldn't be seeing his posts, as they'd be on a different database not connected to the UK hosted site....
