Hi guys any help or ideas as to what made or caused this large hole in my series 1 piston (number4) would be good Thanks lee

somethings broken rather than it's melted that's for sure

i'd go with the valve as well

RST's tend to do that when there run lean, normally when held flat out for a long time.

thanks for that guys all the valves are fine but the turbo internals are chewed up could this be part of the problem or caused by the hole?

thanks all help is apreciated (if that is how you spell it)

bits of piston exited through turbo...if its ex wheel damage...

sumit must of come through on the inlet and crushed it againest the head, whats the head, valves, spark plug look like? you found the missing piece?

had another look and can you take a better pic of the little bits of "stuff" that seem to speckle the pistons

it oculd be that the turbo broke and then bits of it found their way into the inlet and the damage is from there

but if it's det you must have heard about it

tried to take some pics of the little bits on the piston but couldnot get them clear enough to put on all i can say is they look like small pieces of melted metal may be

Looks like a pretty typical det meltdown.

Caused by: Bad tune, or bad maintainance.

Yip totally agree

Almost identical to my old one when running 24psi holding 21psi on standard everything!! Was a fun month though

not sure how it used to run i bought it like this.The guy i had it off said it went like f**k and ran well before it stopped on the duel caridgeway lol.

When it is running how can i stop this happening again? does it just need setting up by somone who knows what they are doing like carl norris ? ect.
p.s mouse comment was very funny
