Default Cosworth ISCV Cleaning

What’s the best way of cleaning a ‘sticky’ valve ?

Should they just be left to soak in a carb cleaner (or similar) or can they be dismantled ?

Cheers for any replies

they can be taken apart...not too difficult.

There's a little 'piston' type thing that usually gets gunk around it's edges.

Just clean it, and everything else with carb cleaner then spray with WD40 and reassemble.

You may want to put a little threadlock on the top nut though...as you don't want it coming off!

I soaked mine in petrol for a few hours and that done the job. Few bits of crap came out...

Still have to re-clean it every 6 months. But beats paying through the nose paying for new one!

Just a quick question on this matter - when cleaning all the individual parts in petrol is it advised to do the main valve body so it cleans up inside or is it just the little components that need doing - mine is pretty clean but i'll do it anyway
